Lug-to-lug distance is the measurement from the tip of one lug to the tip of the opposite lug — taken along the vertical axis of the watch, from 12 o'clock to 6 o'clock. It determines how far the watch extends across the wrist from top to bottom. Two watches with identical case diameters can have significantly different lug-to-lug measurements depending on lug length and angle, and will fit very differently on the same wrist as a result.
In replica watches, lug-to-lug accuracy is a reference-specific dimension that directly affects wrist fit. A replica with correct case diameter but extended lug-to-lug distance will overhang the wrist — reading as too large regardless of the stated size. - Lug angle affects how the lug-to-lug measurement translates to wrist curvature. Downward-angled lugs follow the wrist profile and reduce the effective overhang even at higher lug-to-lug measurements. Straight lugs at the same measurement sit flatter and may overhang more noticeably on curved wrists.
- In QC photos, lug-to-lug accuracy is best assessed from a side profile shot. The lug tips should taper and curve in proportion to the reference — not extend further, not cut shorter. A direct comparison to a reference side profile photo reveals discrepancies that a top-down shot does not.
- Lug-to-lug distance is rarely specified in replica listings. Sellers typically state case diameter only. For references where lug-to-lug is known to be a fit concern — larger sport watches, pilot references — asking the seller directly before ordering is the only reliable way to confirm the dimension.
- Bracelet end link fit is affected by lug geometry as much as lug width. A bracelet designed for a specific reference may not seat correctly on a replica where the lug angle or lug-to-lug distance deviates from the genuine — even if the lug width is correct.
