At lower grades, bracelets are frequently loose, poorly finished, and assembled from links that do not match the reference profile — visible in QC photos and immediately apparent on the wrist.

- Link tightness is the primary quality indicator. A correctly assembled bracelet has minimal lateral play between links — enough to flex naturally on the wrist, not enough to rattle or shift visibly. Loose links are a manufacturing tolerance issue, not a wear issue.
- Brushed-to-polished transitions on the bracelet should be sharp and defined. Center links that are polished should show depth and dimension; flanks that are brushed should show consistent directional grain. Soft or blurred transitions indicate lower finishing quality.
- Clasp construction matters as much as the bracelet itself. A clasp that engages with defined resistance, sits flush when closed, and releases cleanly is a quality indicator. A clasp that gaps, rattles, or requires force to close is not.
- Steel grade affects surface quality. At high-end grade, higher-alloy steel produces a deeper, more layered polish than the standard steel used across most of the market — most visible on bracelet center links under direct light.
- End links — the connecting pieces between the bracelet and the case lugs — should fit flush against the case with no gap. An end link that sits proud or shows a visible gap at the lug indicates a bracelet not matched to the case geometry.
