A ceramic case is a watch case constructed from high-tech ceramic — zirconium oxide or similar compounds sintered at high temperature into a dense, hard form. Ceramic cases appear on sport and luxury references where scratch resistance, color permanence, and a distinctive surface finish are design priorities. The material is significantly harder than steel on the Mohs scale, meaning it resists scratching from most everyday contact.
