  • Bracelet center links: does the polish read as deep and layered, or flat and reflective? 904L center links show dimension under light.
  • Case flank transitions: are the brushed and polished surfaces sharply separated, or do they blend into each other? Sharp separation is a 904L indicator.
  • Lug tops: polished lug surfaces on 904L show depth and dimension — not a flat mirror finish.

If QC photos are low resolution or ambiguous, request a short video. Movement under light reveals surface depth and finishing quality that a single static photo can obscure. A seller who cannot provide clear evidence of 904L finishing is not in a position to substantiate the claim.

For first-time buyers or casual wear, 316L is entirely sufficient. The 904L difference is most relevant to buyers who:
