QC — short for Quality Check — is the inspection process that takes place after a replica watch is produced and before it is shipped to the buyer. In practice, this means the seller photographs or videos the specific piece allocated to the order so the buyer can review it and either approve or reject it before it leaves the warehouse. It is the buyer's only direct opportunity to evaluate the watch before it arrives.

A seller who does not offer buyer-facing QC documentation should be treated as a red flag regardless of price point.

- After reviewing QC materials, the buyer responds with either GL (Good Layer — approve and ship) or RL (Reject Layer — request a replacement piece). Policies on free re-picks, re-pick fees, and refund eligibility vary by seller and should be confirmed before ordering.
- When reviewing QC photos, the most important checkpoints are: dial printing sharpness and spacing, bezel marker alignment (particularly at 12 o'clock), date window centering, crown and tube seating, case finishing transitions between brushed and polished surfaces, bracelet link alignment, and lume plot fill consistency.
- A short video reveals more than a single photo — finishing quality, proportions, and movement of the seconds hand are all easier to evaluate in motion. If photos are ambiguous on any point, request video before approving.
- Approving QC quickly without checking all elements is one of the most common buyer errors — once GL is sent and the watch ships, negotiating a return becomes significantly harder regardless of what arrives.
- QC applies at every price point. The instinct to skip review on lower-cost orders because "the risk is smaller" is flawed — production variance exists across all tiers, and QC is the only tool the buyer has to catch it before shipment.
